Mr. Emerson is proclaiming that we live in a world where people want to tell you who to be and why. However he sates that if you find who you are in yourself that is one of the greatest accomplishment. During this time period many people were Christians and if you werent one then you were considered an outcast. However people started breaking away from this so called church. He himself was one of them. He proclaimed that if you would break away from church and find who you are then you have succeeded as a human bean. The words that he is saying represents a change in America culture of the early the early-mid 1800s from submitting to the churches laws and regulations to departing from the church and an interest in nature.
Mr. Emerson was a Romanticism writer who instead of believing in God, he believed in Nature. Therefore he broke away from the status quo and in his view opened up his mind. Many people at this time started reading and responding to the these type of writers rather then the corrupt sermons of the priest. The intellectual movement of looking at nature instead of God was beginning to spark up all over america. The church wasn't were it should be and romanticism was right there to catch the people when they fall looking for guidance.

Assertions Analysis #14
I fell like what he is saying is that we will repeat what we did in the past if we dont remember what we already went through. For example when the Crucible was made they made it to be used as an allegory when Author Mile used the crucible during the salem witch trails to show the same type of thing during Mccarthyism. The fear if accusation towards something can turn our world upside down. Therefore, he is saying if we dont want to repeat the same mistakes then we must remember our history.

Assertions Analysis #13 + Reflection
Author Miller through Rev Hale is stating that right before the devil fell, God saw his beauty in Heaven. He is saying that although someone might look innocent, they could quite possibly be guilty. He uses this quote two time to cast doubt on the innocence of the characters. In addition, he's attentions were for john proctor but they also revered back to Abigail too. She might look innocent to the rest of the town but we all know her true colors.
